How to Choose a Cup Sealing Machine

Phoenixes Multi Solutions Inc. · Professional Distributor

Quick answer

Choose the machine around your cup. Gather the rim diameter, cup height, material, and a sample before comparing models. If the cup falls outside a standard range, Phoenixes can assess whether a custom mold is suitable rather than ruling the machine out.

The control type describes the control panel and user experience, not the level of automation. Both types support automatic and manual sealing modes.

Start with the cup, not the machine

A cup sealing machine is chosen around the cup it has to seal. Before you compare models, gather four things about your actual cup: the rim diameter, the cup height, the material, and a physical sample.

That last one matters. Phoenixes assesses the exact model against your real container. In some cases, Phoenixes can evaluate whether a replacement or custom mold is suitable for a cup outside the original standard range. The right first step is to send the cup details and let the model and mold be assessed.

Cup diameter and height

Match the machine to your cup's rim diameter and height. Phoenixes beverage cup sealers cover the standard beverage range, and there is a dedicated jumbo model for wider cups.

ModelCup fitFit/range
PH-588S95 mm plastic cup / 90 mm paper cupMax diameter 95 mm, height 180 mm
PH-999SN95 mm plastic cup / 90 mm paper cupMax diameter 95 mm, height 180 mm
PH-95MN (Jumbo)100-120 mm cup diameterCustom molds available; confirm with the actual container

If your cup falls outside these ranges, that is not necessarily a dead end. Send the rim diameter, cup height, material, and a sample, and Phoenixes will assess whether a model or a custom mold can be matched.

Measure the cup rim diameter and height before choosing a cup sealer.

Mechanical or microcomputer-controlled - what it actually means

This area can raise questions, so it helps to clarify the difference first.

Mechanical and microcomputer-controlled describe the control panel and the user experience. They do not mean manual and automatic. Phoenixes beverage cup sealers provide both automatic and manual sealing modes regardless of which control type you choose.

A mechanical panel uses physical buttons and clear symbols. A microcomputer panel uses an LED display that can show temperature, cup count, and error codes. Which one suits you is a question of how your staff prefer to operate the machine and how you want to handle maintenance needs, not a question of speed or automation.

Both control types support automatic and manual sealing modes. You can evaluate them based on the interface your operators prefer and your daily maintenance needs.

Sealing film or Precut Film

Most Phoenixes cup sealers run on standard roll sealing film. One model is different: the PH-989H is Phoenixes' Cup Sealing Machine | Precut Lid for 90 mm paper cups. It is designed for Precut Film and is not compatible with standard roll-film sealers. The suitable film material still needs to be confirmed for the actual cup and application.

Which option suits you depends on your operation and the actual film quotation. If you are unsure, Phoenixes can provide quotations based on your usage so you can compare the options more accurately.

Capacity

Sealing speed depends heavily on the operator, so treat these as approximate guides rather than guaranteed rates.

ModelControl typeApproximate capacity
PH-588SMechanical modelapproximately 450-500 cups/hr, depending on the operator
PH-999SNMicrocomputer-controlled modelapproximately 450 cups/hr, depending on the operator
PH-95MNJumbo Cup Sealer~450 cups/hr, depending on the operator
PH-989HCup Sealing Machine | Precut LidDepends on the operator

For your own planning, tell Phoenixes your actual peak demand rather than a daily total, and the exact model can be assessed against it.

Voltage and certification

Certification depends on the exact model, its voltage, and your destination market. For projects that require more certification documentation, PH-95MN and PH-999SN are two models to ask about first. Their certification coverage and available documents should still be confirmed for the selected voltage and destination market.

International certification references: CUL, UL EPH (Equivalent to NSF), and CE/UKCA (220V only, where applicable).

What to give them: your country, your voltage, and the model you are considering. They will confirm what applies.

Service and support
